Why does your mother risk her life for you? Science answers

Have you ever wondered why the mother loves her children to the extent that she might pay her to sacrifice her life for them? Science has become an answer

Why does your mother risk her life for you? Science answers

A study by researchers from the Champalimaud Center for the Unknown in Portugal recently found that the hormone of love (Oxytocin) secreted by the mother makes her ready to put her life at risk for her children.

In the animal kingdom, the natural reaction may be either to escape or stop motionless if there is any danger in the atmosphere, but it is different when the animals enter the equation. A study by mice researchers found that the mother's defensive behavior is in the face when young people are around her, so she is willing to risk her life for them without thinking.

The researchers worked on structuring an experiment where mice were trained to receive the scent of mint as a warning after the odor was released several times accompanied by a simple electrical shock. The odor was associated with time in the mouse's mind. The production of the love hormone was monitored by the brain in different scenarios From experience, young mice attended some of them, and missed each other.

The results came as follows when scientists did not mess with the secretion hormone love:

When mice are exposed to the scent of mint in the absence of their young, the love hormone stimulates freezing behavior in the mice.
When the mice are exposed to the scent of mint with the presence of their young, the love hormone stimulated a different behavior. The mother mouse attacked the tube that smelled of mint, and some rat mothers tried to close the tube with any material in the cage around them.
When the mice are exposed to the scent of mint with the presence of young adults to some extent, the mother's mouse used to embrace and breastfeed their children and their inclusion.
While the scientists stopped the effect of the hormone of love and prevent the secretion of the brain, the results came as follows, when exposing rats to the smell of mint, whether the presence of young people around or in their absence, found that the behavior of the mother mouse was always frozen in place. Which made the researchers conclude that the absence of the hormone love make the mother mouse forget her duty as a mother to protect her children.

It is known scientifically that the hormone of love plays a major role in the formation of strong link between the mother and her children in general, and although its functions and the state of work in particular is still under investigation and research, but the researchers' certainty through this study is that the absence of this hormone produced by the amygdala (Amygdala ) In the brain is responsible for the position of stillness and freezing in place that may start the animal at risk.

Scientists say the same results from their animal experiments may apply to humans as well, which will be discussed soon.
